Pasa is a direct “passport” healthcare program which offers excellent and affordable care outside of employer sponsored or governmental health insurance.
Pasa Direct is not health insurance. Services and availability vary by membership.

Health insurance is costly, cumbersome, and built with innate disadvantages for both patients and doctors. Insurance premiums are expensive, and with so much left out of pocket, such as copays, deductibles and coinsurance, the financial sensibility is questionable, especially for individuals and families who don’t have an employer sponsored health plan. Furthermore, there is a built-in disincentive to seek care, both in the cost, and in complexities and lag times to get care when you need it. Medical professionals are also getting squeezed financially and are expected to attend to far too many patients with an onerous administrative burden. Health insurance companies put their shareholders first, over the two parties who matter most: the patient seeking care and the medical professional providing it.
In short, health insurance in the US is a broken system. It costs too much, supports too little, and is far too complicated to manage, especially for individuals and families without an employer sponsored health plan.
However, without health insurance, how do you seek care, how do you find a provider, how much will it cost not just for routine care, but what if something becomes high risk or urgent?
Pasa Direct coordinates several distinct products to help make healthcare transparent, fairly priced, and convenient to access. In fact, with Pasa there is an incentive to use the care you’re paying for, so you’re healthier, happier, and far more empowered.
It is common for the terms healthcare and health insurance to be intertwined and interchanged, and to often share the same definition. But they are different things. Healthcare is care: it’s the treatment encounters with the medical provider, the medicine, the procedure, and even the preventative care actions that someone receives. Health insurance is insurance; it is a risk mitigation strategy to offset the cost of potential high-cost events such as a severe illness, accident, surgery, and more. At Pasa, we look at those two things distinctly and, most importantly, we structure them differently.
Most routine, maintenance, and preventative care is predictable. Because those types of care are predictable, they can be planned for and paid for in predictable ways. Therefore, with Pasa your routine care is paid for through an affordable monthly membership. This includes a primary care doctor, 24/7 virtual urgent care access, and, depending on the plan, may include common medications. Generally, there is no additional out-of-pocket cost in the form of a copay or other fees.
Outside of common and routine care, when emergencies occur, severe illness happens, or other high-cost care needs come up, Pasa offers several options which can help reduce the financial burden and risk to you and your family. These risk mitigation tools are not legally classified as insurance, but rather cost-share programs.
The cost of plugging in a cost-share is variable depending on several factors, such as the age of the individual or individuals, prior and pre-existing health conditions, and the amount of out-of-pocket costs that individual or family is willing to cover themselves. However, when extended care is needed beyond the routine, Pasa’s support team will help you find the best care at the best value, with pricing that is clear and transparent.
Unlike health insurance, which starts with high-cost monthly premiums, then adds costs with copays, deductibles and coinsurance, gatekeeps your access, limits your coverage, and facilitates a frustrating experience in accessing care, Pasa Direct makes it easy and affordable to get the care you need and deserve.
With Pasa Direct solutions, rather than a high-cost monthly premium just to “access the care system,” you pay a low-priced membership. That membership gives you direct access to the primary and routine care you need. It is transparent, so you know exactly what you’re paying for and what that membership payment includes. The pricing is fair because we’ve cut out most of the greedy middleman markups. The experience is easy to access. In fact, with Pasa, we want each of our members to use the services they’re paying for. Why? Because when you can easily access fairly priced care, you’re more likely to use it, to be proactive, preventative and, perhaps most importantly, empowered to manage your health on your terms and not wait until illness is severe, costly and far more complicated.
Our products are designed for everyone without access to an employer sponsored or government health plan, or who seeks a more sensible way to manage their health directly on their terms.
